Creative directors may come and go at Piazza Sempione, but the firm’s winning formula of peppered-up basics stays. Paola Toscano, who last season replaced Nathalie Gervais, has since quit, but the long-standing design team mastered this collection with confidence.

Home elements such as marble, kilim rugs, even salt and pepper, sparked the team’s fantasy, showing up in loose, raw-edged coats in sharkskin wool or minidresses in graphic rug motifs. Soft Lurex shells or bib-front camisoles tempered the formality of checked men’s pants, while slouchy and asymmetric cable knits offered a ready-to-unwind weekend attitude.
